This position supports the development of the Wayne County Resource Family Program, which helps place children in safe and stable foster settings. The work involves managing cases, maintaining organized records, and helping families navigate key steps in the foster care process. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Application Review: Assess applications and conduct guided interviews with potential resource family candidates to determine suitability
  • Family Advocacy: Attend court hearings to support resource families and provide testimony related to their cases
  • Meeting Support: Participate in permanency and transition planning meetings to assist children and families in reaching permanency goals
  • Program Recruitment: Recruit families and engage the community through written materials and presentations to promote resource family care
  • Report Preparation: Prepare clear written reports and oral presentations for groups, agencies, and county officials to inform and educate others

The Departments under the Wayne County Human Services Department of Wayne County Government are Civil Service covered positions through the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission. Please note these are County positions and carry county salaries and benefits package.
