$3 Million Awarded for Wayne & Pike Career and Technical Center

Funding for the long-awaited Wayne & Pike County Career and Technical Center was formally presented to school officials yesterday with a $3 million check presentation at Wallenpaupack High School. The investment supports development of the new regional technical school, which will serve students from the Wallenpaupack, Wayne Highlands, Western Wayne and Delaware Valley school districts. Wayne and Pike counties are currently the only two counties in Pennsylvania without a dedicated career and technical center. The funding was secured through the congressional appropriations process by Congressman Rob Bresnahan. Once completed, the center is expected to provide training for nearly 600 students in fields such as automotive technology, culinary arts, childcare and aviation. The project has been discussed locally for decades and is projected to open by the start of the 2027–28 school year.
