Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District

Established to protect Lake Wallenpaupack and its watershed, the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District (LWWMD) is dedicated to preserving water quality and promoting sustainable use of this vital natural resource. We evolved from community efforts in the 1970s and officially became an organization in 1979. Over the decades, we’ve grown to encompass a wide range of environmental activities and partnerships.

LWWMD is a team of passionate community leaders dedicated to the lake’s long-term health. We represent local government, conservation organizations, the business community, agricultural producers, and most importantly- we’re your neighbors! Our diverse backgrounds allow us to tackle complex environmental issues with innovative solutions and a collaborative approach.
