Lacawac Sanctuary Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to the conservation, research, and education of natural ecosystems in Northeastern Pennsylvania. As the steward of Lacawac Sanctuary, a 545-acre nature preserve, biological field station, and environmental education center, the foundation safeguards a pristine glacial lake, diverse forest ecosystems, wetlands, and historic structures.

Founded in 1966 through the donation of 341 acres and a collection of historic buildings, Lacawac has grown into a hub for scientific research, hands-on environmental education, and conservation efforts. Today, the foundation manages four preserves and sanctuaries across Wayne and Pike Counties, protecting more than 749 acres of ecologically significant land.

Lacawac serves as a vital resource for scientists, students, and the community, fostering a deeper connection to the natural world through ecological research, STEM education, and environmental stewardship.
